Summer Schedule 2008

Age Limits: The camper must be within the camp’s listed age range by the beginning of your chosen camp. Only campers with a birthday during a week of camp may choose which age camp to attend.

Registration: Sundays 3:00-4:30 p.m. for camps beginning on Sunday. At stated time for all other camps/retreats.

You’re Invited: Every Friday family and friends are invited to the closing worship service and supper. Worship begins at 4:00 p.m. and you’ll get a taste of what your camper learned from the Bible throughout the week. Supper begins at 5:00 p.m. Please notify Baptist Park by Thursday how many family and friends will attend supper (not including your camper). A $5 per person donation for supper is encouraged.

Pick Up: Week long camps end on Friday with supper at 5:00 p.m. All campers must be off campus by 7:00 p.m. Pick up for other camps is as listed.

    Escape Velocity Camp
    June 22-27, 2008
    Ages 14-18
    Five full days of exciting activities and worship for teens quickly becoming adults. Base Camp option: Escape Velocity campers who choose this option will be introduced to wilderness skills (canoeing, tenting, fire building, map/compass use, etc.) during Awesome Hours. Base Camp is an excellent preparation for Out Post Camp. Cost: $175 if registration postmarked by June 13, 2008; $195 after June 13.

    Flight Camp
    June 22-27, 2008
    Ages 14-18
    Have you always wanted to fly?  Have you ever considered the thrill of serving God and your fellow man as a missionary pilot?  Then this camp’s for you.  In partnership with Brigade Air, Baptist Park is offering Flight Camp as an introduction to aviation.  Campers will learn about the fundamentals of flight in daily class sessions, participate in actual flights (weather permitting) in an airplane with a qualified, licensed pilot, and be introduced to careers in aviation (with an emphasis on missions aviation) through guest speakers.  Minimum number of campers required:  5.  Maximum number accepted:  15.  Cost:  $1,305.  Brigade Air will provide a $1,000 scholarship for every camper registered.  Final cost:  $305.  To register, go to www.brigadeair.org and click on ‘camper registration’.     registration deadline for Flight Camp has been extended until all openings are filled or the first day of Flight Camp, whichever comes first.

    Lifting Off Camp
    June 29-July 4, 2008
    Ages 11-14
    Campers will enjoy various activities and games as well as daily worship. Ham Radio option: Lifting Off campers who choose this option will be introduced to amateur radio operation. Limited to 15 campers. When not involved with ham radio, campers will take part in the daily activities at Baptist Park. Base Camp option: Lifting Off campers who choose this option will be introduced to wilderness skills (canoeing, tenting, fire building, map/compass use, etc.) during Awesome Hours. Base Camp is an excellent preparation for Out Post Camp. Cost: $175 if registration postmarked by June 20, 2008; $195 after June 20.

    Growing Up Adventure
    July 6-8, 2008
    Ages 6-7;
    Cost $90
    Designed for the camper ready for two nights away from home and two days full of exciting activities and worship. Camp ends Tuesday with supper. Family members are invited to attend both the closing worship at 4:00 p.m. and supper at 5:00 p.m. Please notify Baptist Park by Noon on July 7 how many family members will be attending supper. Suggested donation per family member for supper is $6. Campers must be off campus by 6:30 p.m.

    Small Fry Fun Day
    July 9, 2008
    Ages 4-5
    A great day of fun and worship for the little ones---and perhaps a day of freedom for Mom and Dad. Campers will spend their day in age appropriate games, activities and biblical instruction. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Supper served at 4:30 p.m. Pick up your camper promptly at 5:00 p.m. Cost: $35

    Puddle Jumpers Day Camp 1

    Ages 6-7
    If your child is ready for a day of exciting activities and biblical instruction but not for a night away from home alone, this camp is for him/her. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Supper is served at 4:30 p.m. Pick up your camper promptly at 5:00 p.m. Cost: $35


    Puddle Jumper Pal Option
    Register your Puddle Jumper for both Puddle Jumpers Day Camp 1 & 2 ($70) and for an extra $15 one parent can spend the night in one of our cabins with your little one; for $25 both parents can. Spend the evening of July 10 at Baptist Park enjoying some of our offerings or go off campus to find your own excitement. What a great way to make some memories with your precious child!

    Man vs. Water Men’s Retreat
    July 11-13;
    Age 16* and Older
    PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED
    Spend a weekend with other men enjoying the thrill of white water rafting on the Kennebec River and growing in your relationship with Christ.  Transportation will leave Baptist Park at 12:00 Noon on Friday.  Other pick up locations will be in Houlton, Island Falls, and Medway.  We’ll travel to the Windfall Rafting center in Jackman, where we’ll sleep in fully furnished cabins.  (www.windfallrafting.com for more info about accommodations).  Friday evening we’ll relax and worship together.  On Saturday we’ll take on the Kennebec River.  Sunday morning we’ll have one last worship session and depart for home.  You’ll be back in time to tell your friends at work on Monday about the blast you had over the weekend.  Cost (includes transportation, four meals, rafting, wet suits and lodging at the Center):  $161.  *16 and 17 year olds may attend if accompanied by an adult registered for the Retreat and with a signed release provided by Windfall Rafting.   BONUS:  Every tenth registration received rafts for free (just pay $82 for lodging, food, etc.).  Minimum number of registrations required:  15.  Maximum number of registrations accepted:  55.  All registrations must be postmarked by June 27, 2008. Registration is non-refundable but is transferable.

    Labor Day Retreat

    Ages 13-18
    The last fling of summer. Gather for a weekend of fun and equipping for the school year ahead. Registration is from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday. Campers should be picked up promptly at 10:00 a.m. September 1. Cost: $95

    Women's Retreat
    September 5-6, 2008
    Age 13 & Older
    Spend some time in fun, fellowship and growth with other women. Lois Flewelling (founder and President of Empowering Life Ministries in Houlton, Maine) will speak on the theme Continuous Shine. The focus of the retreat will be on stepping up into the higher calling God has for women.
    Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. Friday. The retreat ends at 6:00 p.m. Saturday.NOTE: It is expected that teens will be accompanied by an adult registered for the retreat. Cost: $40
